New Paper on Multimodal Surveillance of COVID-19 in the Built Environment

Researchers at the Institute for Health in the Build Environment (IHBE) are among the contributors of a new paper in Journal of Exposure Science & Environmental Epidemiology on methods of detecting COVID-19 in a built environment. Environmental surveillance holds great promise to reduce human-to-human transmission of the virus through early detection. This paper shows that monitoring rooftop exhaust air, indoor high-touch surfaces, and wastewater can provide useful early detection signals for building owners and operators.
