Design research conducted by the Institute for Health in the Built Environment was recently featured in Nature in an article titled, “The probiotic home: Where microbes are welcome guests,” by Katherine Bourzac. The article was part of Nature Outlook: The human microbiome, and chronicles the history of modern architecture’s relationship with microbes and future directions undertaken by designers and researchers to create healthier built environments.
