The highly collaborative study for healthcare-associated infections and its relationship to the architecture is ongoing. We are working with OHSU to collect samples from patients and their room at the time of diagnosis, as well as before and after room cleaning post discharge to analyze if factors of the built environment (light, materials, etc.) encourage Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) infection.
