Scanning Electron Microscope

The Center for Advanced Materials Characterization in Oregon (CAMCOR)  is a full service, comprehensive materials characterization center housed in the Lorry I. Lokey Laboratories at the University of Oregon. BioBE is able to use these facilities to utilize the scanning electron microscope (SEM), which is a type of electron microscope that produces images of a sample by scanning the surface with a focused beam of electrons. The electrons interact with atoms in the sample, producing various signals that contain information about the surface topography and composition of the sample.
